Reading is one of the most important thing a kid can do to become a lifelong learner. In February, the UPES Parents Involved in Reading team is hosting a poster contest to inspire reading at home. Want to participate? Using the provided paper (click the title to find the papers) create a 2-D poster advertising the benefits of reading for 20 minutes each day. A winner will be picked from each grade level. Along with winning a prize, selected posters will be enlarged and displayed in a prominent position at UPES. Submissions should be turned in to your classroom teacher by Friday, February 17th.
As winter finally descends upon Union Pleasant Elementary School, many students will still have an opportunity to travel out to the playground to get some much needed fresh air and exercise. In order for students to be comfortable, warm, and safe send them to school with hats, gloves, and boots.
Want to be a volunteer at UPES?
Please have your government issued photo ID ready as you request admittance at the MAIN ENTRANCE (on Union St.) where you will sign in. Please proceed to the main office and we will proceed from there. Thank you kindly and I look forward to our training sessions!
All trainings will be held at 8:15AM and 3:15PM. Please report to the main office after you enter through the main entrance at Union Street. Submission of the Volunteer Form and Board approval is necessary every school year prior to in-classroom volunteering, chaperoning field trips, etc. Please plan accordingly.
Dates/times are subject to change if an extenuating or unforeseen circumstance arises. Thank you for your consideration.
The mission of Union Pleasant Elementary School is to provide our children with an academic foundation and to create
an environment that addresses their social, emotional, and physical needs.
